Rosé 2008 $12b / $144c
Made from 100 percent estate pinot noir, this salmon pink rosé was dry fermented producing a light refreshing wine with hints of poached strawberry, pepper and spice. Juice for this wine was selected from the last pressing of early picked pinot noir, used to make 2008 Blanc de Noir (60%), and from the top of the 2008 Pinot Noir vats (40%).

Silver Medal - Red Hill Agricultural Society International Wine Show 2009
The remarkable pale color of the 2008 Pinot Grigio is a good indication of the crisp, refreshing nature of this wine. Picked early in the vintage, from the estate pinot gris block, it was whole bunch pressed and cold tank fermented with introduced aromatic yeasts. It displays crisp lime and grapefruit with hints of spiced pear, with citrus and tropical blossom, and zippy acidity. Great Spring and Summer drinking.
Pinot Gris 2008 $22b / $264c
The 2008 Pinot Gris was whole bunch pressed then part cold tank fermented using aromatic introduced yeasts and part barrel fermented in old French barriques using wild yeast. The wine was aged in barrel and tank for four months before blending. Picked two weeks later than the fruit for the Pinot Grigio, the 2008 Pinot Gris is a rich, luscious wine with lifted pear and nectarine aromas and a mouth filling palate of ripe pear, peach nectar, and crisp grapefruit acidity. A full flavoured wine with vibrancy and freshness.

Matured in new and old French oak barriques for 18 months, this richly coloured pinot displays aromas reminiscent of Christmas pudding, with layers of spice, candied mixed peel, mocha. Cigar box decadence is derived from the lengthy oak maturation. A lingering, supple wine, with smooth chamois like tannins.

A more typical Surf Coast shiraz than last years release. The 2006 Mud was matured in French oak barriques for 18 months, and is a multi layered, bright and youthful coloured Shiraz. It displays rich red fruits and the classic cool climate characters of black pepper, and spice. The medium bodied palate is succulent and fresh with red currents and plum, and fine silky tannins.

Enticing and luscious, and now with some good bottle age is drinking beautifully, with wonderful developed Alasace pinot gris characters.

This was our first release from the much talked about ‘difficult’ 2007 vintage. As a result of the dry vintage on the Surf Coast, the yield from our vineyard in 2007 was only a fraction of previous years, hence only 180 cases of pinot gris are available.
The 2007 Pinot Gris has been part tank fermented using introduced yeast, and part barrel fermented using wild yeasts in old French barriques. The 2006 is in the style of a classic pinot gris from the French region of Alsace. The intensity and richness of the low yield are evident, displaying characters of grapefruit and lemon blossom, the palate filling out with spiced pear and creaming soda flavours and texture. Crisp citrus acidity provides a lengthy and lively finish.

The 2003 pinot noir is a complex blend of 100% estate grown pinot noir varieties 114,115 and MV6. Handpicked, estate produced and aged in French barriques, this fragrant, delicate Burgundy influenced pinot noir has the colour of mahogany with a soft, velvety hue. The nose has cinnamon, spiced plum and a subtle hint of violet with earthy undertones evocative of truffles. Spicy earthy flavours follow from the nose to the palate. Fine velvety tannins contribute to a rich, silky mouthfeel. It has a smooth, round finish that lingers.

This garnet hued pinot noir displays a rich blend of plum, forest berrys and forest floor earth and spice characters. Fine suede textured tannins deliver a well balanced wine and a fine lingering finish. Only 100 cases of the Paraparap were produced in 2004. Extended decanting time is recommended to allow the full spectrum of pinot characters to develop.

The 2005 shiraz is 100% estate grown, hand picked and aged in in new and old French oak barriques. A spicy shiraz displaying a range of characters from anise and black pepper and hints of preserved meats. The aromatic richness of fine tobacco is complemented by blackberry and mulberry characters. Fine grain tannins frame this cool climate shiraz. This wine is ideal for meat dishes and is magnificent with dark bittersweet chocolate.

Four barrels from the 2005 shiraz vintage were selected for the 2005 Modewarre Mud. Estate grown and produced, and aged in French oak barriques for 18 months, the 2005 Modewarre Mud is a multi layered deep coloured shiraz. It displays rich blackberry and mulberry and the classic cool climate characters of black pepper, licorice and spice. Dark chocolate and vanilla provide warmth and enrich the palate. Tannins are firm and mouth filling.
